The Bradley’s invade Virginia Beach…and The Cheesecake Factory!
We just returned from vacation from Virginia Beach. We had a blast, lounging on the beach, watching our 3 year old play in the water, helping her build sand castles, and going for the occassional dip or two ourselves. But, other than soaking up the sun, we made sure we exercised our taste buds to their fullest! And one of the more enjoyable places we dined was none other than The Cheesecake Factory in downtown Virginia Beach.
Presenting itself as a classic, upscale restaurant, with French and Italian architectural influences, the same look is also represented in their food. However, the prices are not upscale at all. The Cheesecake Factory is a very good place to eat and enjoy a lunch or an evening dinner with your loved ones. But, one item on the menu I want to bring to light is a burger that I ordered for lunch. It was something I hadn’t tried at The Cheesecake Factory before. It was the Smokehouse BBQ Burger. To quote the menu, “Smoked Bacon and Melted Cheddar with Crispy Onion Rings and B.B.Q. Ranch Sauce”. After eating this burger, they should have referred to it as a tongue-slapping, mouth-watering side of premium angus burger, topped with lettuce and tomatoes, and made even better with slabs of cheddar, bacon, and crispy onion rings, all of which leads to complete awesomeness! Yes, it was that good! The fact that it is also served on a sesame brioche-buttered grilled bread also adds to the flavor. My wife and I both had this burger, and we both agree it was the best burger that we had ever, EVER eaten. This is a must try if you find yourself at The Cheesecake Factory (they have one in Louisville).
Whatever you do while you’re on vacation or if you’re just taking a trip across the state, be sure to check out some new and exciting restaurants. After all, isn’t it the food that makes the trip worthwhile? Check out The Cheesecake Factory sometime this summer. You’ll be glad you did!
Want to try a cool burger at home? Then, give my favorite burger recipe a try. Here’s the recipe:
David’s Ultimate Steak Burger
- 2 lbs of your favorite burger
- 1 extra large egg or 2 regular eggs, beaten
- one sleeve of saltine crackers, crushed
- one medium onion, chopped
- two cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- one green pepper, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. of Worchestershire Sauce
- 1 Tsp. of onion powder
- 1 Tsp. of garlic powder
- 1 tsp. of chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
Get your grill hot first. Using your hands, combine all ingredients except BBQ sauce and form burger into patties. Grill burgers to your liking. Brush BBQ sauce on each burger near the end of the cooking, allowing them to stay on the grill to caramelize slightly. Serve on your favorite bun, and enjoy! I use the onion hamburger rolls with mine. They’re simply delicious. Grill your hamburger buns with a little butter, too. That adds to the flavor!
Most important thing to remember this summer: Vacations are made even better with good food. And good food can be found…in a Morgan Minute! ENJOY!
