Looking Back…

What I remember most about that morning was the sky.  We'd already had a tornado in the county two days earlier, and as I was headed in to work, the sky just looked so strange.

Here we are a year removed, and some things have changed quite a bit...others, not so much.

In the face of all those decisions, however, it gives my soul a level of happiness that I cannot begin to explain to know that the Freezer Fresh IS reopening.  I first saw a few comments here or there yesterday on Facebook, and as my wife and I drove through town last night to take a peek, I spotted some stacks of block and a cement mixer on the empty lot.  That made me happy.

Debris, or not debris? THAT is the question…

I have been attending as many meetings as time (and my job) will allow, and it has been fascinating to be a part of the process.  I typically do a lot more listening than talking when I'm there, and one of the things that has become pretty obvious is that there are a lot of conflicting stories and tons of rumors floating around right now about a great many things.

One item in particular has been in relation to the cleanup of debris.

We just returned from vacation from Virginia Beach.   We had a blast,  lounging on the beach, watching our 3 year old play in the water, helping her build sand castles, and going for the occassional dip or two ourselves.  But, other than soaking up the sun, we made sure we exercised our taste buds to their fullest!  And one of the more enjoyable places we dined was none other than The Cheesecake Factory in downtown Virginia Beach.
