jason isbell: “Danko/Manuel”

Several of my friends know how big a fan I am of Drive-By Truckers.  Jason Isbell used to be one of the guitarists/vocalists in the band, and this song was originally on the DBT album The Dirty South.  He has his own band now, The 400 Unit, and they will soon be releasing a collection of live recordings.  This song will be on that album, and it is a tribute to late members of “The Band”.  I hope you enjoy it.…

I am late in arriving to the Alabama Shakes party, but I sure am glad I showed up.  I first heard of them as they were touring with my favorite band, Drive-By Truckers, this past year.
