You think this election is ugly?

It is uglier than you know. The first video was taken at a rally in Pennsylvania. The amount of anger and hatred in that crowd is pretty scary, and it is scary (and sad) that this type of attitude still persists in this country.

…and if that wasn’t bad enough, well, just look no further than right here in our own back yard. It is a little sketchy on YouTube about where this video was actually shot. The person who posted it says it was in Eastern Kentucky, while some other folks are suggesting South Carolina. Either way, it is …

Tuesday Talking Points – 10/14/2008

Well, I’m going to try out something a little different here.  We’ll see what kind of reaction it gets, and sort of adapt from there.  I’m going to just throw out some random talking points each Tuesday, and you can respond to any or all of them.  Seems easy enough, right?

Well, let’s get it started…

1. I’ve read on here (in the forums) that the owners of McDonald’s in West Liberty purchased the Dairy Cheer building.  While some speculated it was to keep it closed, I’ve now heard it was so that they could open a Kentucky Fried Chicken …

Maybe this weekend…(schedule included)

Everyone should head to downtown West Liberty for the Sorghum Festival. (Event schedule listed below)

…and eat a barbecue sandwich…and some soup beans…and maybe a ham and biscuit….ooooo! and a funnel cake…

…and walk around the booths and pick you up some good stuff…maybe some homemade lye soap, or some other goodies…

…and try to forget about the economy and elections and depressing stuff like that for the next 3 days.

In my opinion, you should just take it easy this weekend and soak in the spectacle that is the West Liberty Sorghum Festival.

Here’s a schedule of activities this …

Back from Vacation!

I was gone all last week to the beach, and my brain is still in beach-bum mode.

I’m pulling it all together now, though, and I’ll debuting a new feature or 2 here shortly.

So, new postings are coming soon…if I don’t head back to the beach again!!…

The lies about Oil…

I don’t have to tell any of you that we have a tremendously important election approaching us this November. The media just LIVES for this event and the amount of press it will receive between now and then will probably make every single one of us sick. In just a few short months, we will go to the polls, possibly in huge numbers, to elect our new President of these here United States.

(If you’d rather not read my ramblings, you can go straight to the link at the bottom of the page to read a great article about the …

Study concludes Bush lied

Well, I didn’t really need a study to figure this one out…but maybe it will help dhunley come to terms a bit. 😉

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080123/ap_on_go_pr_wh/misinformation_study

The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.

“It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al-Qaida,” according to

More Media Bias…

Anyone who thinks the media isn’t trying to influence the election and help pave the way for who the eventual candidates will be is just not living in reality.

John Edwards placed 2nd in Iowa, but got absolutely NO coverage heading into New Hampshire.  Dennis Kucinich wasn’t even allowed to the debate table in Nevada.

And after yesterday’s caucus in Nevada, here is the headline CNN.com went with this morning:

“McCain, Clinton, Romney claim victories” – see for yourself right here.

There’s only 1 problem with that headline.  Even though Clinton technically won in Nevada, Obama got MORE delegates, because …

Who SHOULD you vote for in 2008?

These are a couple of polls you can take. They ask you some questions and then list the candidates who most closely align with your answers. Kind of fun!

This one is only 11 questions

This one is a bit longer

Enjoy!

When you finish, maybe leave a comment as to who you were actually supporting vs. who the polls suggested for you. You can use a fake name…nobody will ever know. 🙂

I THOUGHT I was for John Edwards, but my answers on the first one gave me a 3-way tie between Clinton, Obama, and Dodd. The 2nd one …
