Well, one less candidate now…

The New York Times is reporting that Governor Bill Richardson, Democrat, has dropped out of the presidential race.

If you read the article, you’d think that John Edwards must have dropped out, too, because when they talk about the Democratic candidate who could benefit most from Richardson’s departure, they only mention Obama and Clinton.

It is amazing to me how the mainstream media WANTS either Obama or Clinton to win the Democratic nomination. They have completely ignored John Edwards, even though he placed 2nd in the Iowa caucus.

I hate to go out on a conspiracy limb here…(ok…i don’t really …

This clip is from the fairly new website, Funny or Die. It features Will Ferrell, who i have always thought was extremely funny, along with a fellow Saturday Night Live writer, Adam McKay, and Adam McKay’s daughter.

It is called Good Cop, Baby Cop (and like lots of After Dark content, it does contain a bit of foul language, so keep that in mind).

i originally started off this rant as a response to a comment left by another poster, but then it slowly evolved (oops…evolved OR intelligently designed…gotta be fair and balanced!) into a much longer rant about the state of politics.

when it comes to politics and choosing a president for these United States, i’m sort of curious about why religion should enter into the discussion at all, actually.

wasn’t escaping religious persecution one of the reasons we came to this country in the first place and fought so hard to keep it free?

UK/Tubby/Coach Clyde…some thoughts

I saw this quote on a Kentucky Wildcat message board, and i just had to comment, because i thought it was PERFECT statement about the state of UK and Tubby and coach BCG…

“I appreciate the fact that Tubby has demonstrated the ability to take an outmanned squad and play a style and make the adjustments necessary to enable him to win more games than Coach Gillispie has so far.

Congrats to the Cats

Well, it has been hard to watch the Men’s (or for that matter, women’s) UK Basketball team this season so far. However, on New Year’s Eve, we finally got to see the best 5 players on the floor all together, and it looked pretty good.

What looked even better was the UK Football team taking down the Florida State Seminoles at the Music City Bowl later that evening. Here is a nice (if a bit long) package of highlights from the game, courtesy of ESPN.

Extras

This past Sunday (December 16th), the series finale of the HBO series "Extras" premiered. If you haven’t been watching the show, shame on you. (well, maybe that is a little harsh..but you really should be watching!) "Extras" is from the same guys who developed the original BBC series, "The Office"…Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

This show follows the lives of Andy Millman (Gervais), and his friend Maggie Jacobs (Ashley Jensen), as they scrape out a living as extras in movies and TV shows. I won’t bore you with all of the details, but I do want to include a clip …

Deep Impact…

Looks like an asteroid could be about to strike Mars. The impact would occur near where the Mars rover Opportunity is still operating, but most likely would not affect the little guy and his mission (or is it a her?)…anyways…

There’s about a 1-in-75 chance it will impact on January 30.
