Lockheed Martin Contributes to West Liberty Tornado Relief Fund
Lockheed Martin responded to the need of Morgan County residents by donating $10,000 to the West Liberty Tornado Relief Fund through United Way of the Bluegrass.

Sculpture Park Project Needs Your Debris
As the area continues to recover from the March 2nd tornado, the students of Morgan County would like to help honor the resilience of our citizens and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the storm. In cooperation with Morgan County Government, Morgan County Cooperative Extension, Morgan County Arts and Recreation, and the West Liberty Area Arts Council, Morgan County students will be creating a sculpture and park in West Liberty.
Made possible by a grant from Brushy Fork Institute, the sculpture and surrounding park will be constructed using debris from the tornado in order to pay homage …

The West Liberty Area Arts Council would like to announce a casting call for the original play, “Anarene”, written by Gene Cravens. There will be open auditions on Thursday August 16th at 6pm in the Morgan County Public Library.

I am late in arriving to the Alabama Shakes party, but I sure am glad I showed up. I first heard of them as they were touring with my favorite band, Drive-By Truckers, this past year. I kept seeing positive things here and there about them, but I only checked them out a couple of weeks ago. In the face of all those decisions, however, it gives my soul a level of happiness that I cannot begin to explain to know that the Freezer Fresh IS reopening. I first saw a few comments here or there yesterday on Facebook, and as my wife and I drove through town last night to take a peek, I spotted some stacks of block and a cement mixer on the empty lot. That made me happy.

EZEL, Ky. (April 30, 2012) – Misty Manning, a 29-year-old mother with a rare genetic disorder, endured 13 surgeries and multiple hospitalizations while attending online classes at Ashford University. With extreme perseverance, her dream of being the first in her family to earn a college degree is becoming a reality.
While health issues and a forthcoming surgery preclude Manning from participating in the traditional commencement ceremony, she will receive her diploma – a bachelor’s degree in social sciences – …
