Staph…

What else is there to say, really? Everywhere you turn right now, people are talking about it. It is in our schools. It is in our restaurants. It is on our skin. Schools are being closed down so that they can be cleaned (which makes me wonder…aren’t they being cleaned anyway??). Listen, I’ve done my part not to help create the super bug. If I get sick, I just lay around and whine about it to anybody that will listen, and in a few days, I feel better…no medicine needed. But a combination of doctors being too quick to dish …

Oh no…

Well folks, I do seem to come and go around here, and I do apologize for that, but other demands take me away at times and it can’t be helped.  I promise to try and keep fresh and interesting content coming your way.

To that end, today I’m doing a combo…Video of the Day/Music You Need to Know…

Here’s a little video called "Charmer" from a little band called Kings of Leon.  Me, my wife, and our friend have been to see them 3 times this year…in Louisville, Columbus, and most recently Nashville…and they just rock.  They are from Tennessee …

Sweet, sweet victory…

This should have been the VOTD starting on Monday and lasting all week long, but I am just now getting around to doing some updates…lots of stuff going on this week.

Anyway, in case you are just emerging from a cave, UK defeated the #1 team in the country, LSU, this past Saturday in front of a national TV audience.  Here is the 3rd overtime in all its glory…enjoy!…

A show you should be watching…

Journeyman is one of the new additions to NBC’s Monday night lineup.  The show airs at 10pm eastern, and so far, it is one of my favorites of the new season.  I was a HUGE fan of Quantum Leap, and at first I was afraid this was just going to be some sort of knockoff version of that show (even though it was also an NBC show).

However, this show stands on its own just fine.  The star of the show is Kevin McKidd, who played Lucius Vorenus in the HBO series "Rome", which was also very good.  You might …

It’s FOOOOOTBALLL TIME IN THE BLUEGRASS!!

Well folks, I know you are all stuck at work today, trying not to daydream about what has now become the biggest UK game of the season, in a SERIES of biggest games so far.  Each one is huge for earning national respect for our beloved CATS, and a win tonight over South Carolina and the Ol’ Ball Coach would be absolutely AMAZING!

So, while you sit there counting down the hours until kickoff, you might want to read this very cool article about Kentucky football on Yahoo Sports.

And just to help pump you up, I thought I’d throw …

How ’bout that Sorghum Festival?

So, what did you think this year?  There were a few new things…some new booths…music in the food area…and a couple more.  The weather was PERFECT, and I think the crowd was a direct reflection of that.

We only went over on Saturday this year.  We got there shortly before the parade started (and by shortly, I mean it was like 12:50!), and in the past couple of years, the crowd has been really thinned out by then for the parade.  This year, the crowd was relatively smaller right before the parade, but still larger than it has been in …

Newscast goof-ups: these are always good.

For those of you who don’t follow sports, Kevin Everett is a player for the Buffalo Bills who went down the first week in a HORRIBLE collision that left him without any feeling from the neck down.  The doctors were not sure that he’d ever be able to walk again, but miraculously, he was able to move his arms and legs within several hours after his surgery.

This is a sportscast about that remarkable event…too bad the video didn’t quite match up.

Favorite Sorghum Memories

Folks, we are in the final week leading up to the big weekend. The Sorghum Festival is almost here, and yours truly couldn’t be more excited about it. I have a lot of great memories about this time of year, and I’d love to hear some of yours!

Just add some comments to this story and tell everyone about why you love the Sorghum Festival or share some of your fondest memories about the festival. If you have any pictures you’d like to share, just email them to me at dave@morganminute.com , and I’ll get a gallery posted for everyone …

Some crafts that won’t be at the Festival…

I wanted to list these items here, since the Sorghum Festival has now arrived and folks will be coming from far and wide to look at the arts and crafts available on Main Street.

These items won’t be in a booth (at least not this year), but I think they are amazing, and I just wanted to share them with you all because I am so proud of them.

These are hand-crafted dolls, made by my wife Rebecca.  She has been working on them for some time now, and she has just posted them to ebay to sell.

I am …

Not really a video…

…but just a snapshot of the fantastic-ness that is about to begin. 🙂

Hopefully the weather will be a little better than what it is today.  We definitely need this rain though, so no complaints here.  I just hope we don’t have a washout like we did last year.

According to the weather, we’re looking at sunny and high 70’s/low 80’s for all 3 days.  You certainly can’t beat that. Here’s the view on Main Street this morning, Thursday, September 27, 2007…just imagine the goodies underneath those flaps. 😀
