How about some weather?

If you take a look right up there on the navigation bar, you’ll notice a new Page, called simply, “Weather”. If you go ahead and give that button a click, you’ll find a radar loop for our area, along with the current conditions and local weather forecast. So, check it out!

Oh, and have a lovely Memorial Day…hopefully there won’t be too many rain showers on that new, fancy radar. 🙂…

It is a good day…

The Kentucky Wildcats basketball team is once again the talk of the country (well, in sports circles at least), and this time, it is the kind of talking we have been missing around here for quite some time.

So soak it in, Big Blue Nation…we are back.

Back on Top

And there’s a great story to go along with it here……

Exciting news…

We got

Kentucky is expected to make it official tomorrow, but the word is spreading all over the internet and has been crazy since this morning.  For those that didn’t understand the image, it means that we just landed John Wall, the #1 point guard in this recruiting class, and the final piece of the puzzle.

Also, Eric Bledsoe, the #5 point guard in the class (but 2nd according to some analysts only behind Wall) made the necessary grades to become eligible to enroll at UK next Fall.

Man, this is going to be a long summer!…

Coach Cal

Well, we didn’t have to wait very long to find out who would be the next coach at UK after the decision was made to part ways with Billy Clyde after only two years.

On Tuesday evening, the University of Kentucky announced coach John Calipari as the new leader of the men’s basketball program, and most folks in the state could not be happier.

I know that I have written on here in support of coach Gillispie, and I truly do wish it had worked out with him.  However, after he was let go and things started to surface about …

Is this the man?

NUMEROUS sources reporting UK and John Calipari have met, an offer in the range of $6M/year has been made (may include incentives), and it may all be over soon, one way or another.

You can follow the information as I post it by following my Tweets on this web site, or you can follow me on Twitter for faster updates.  I’ll try to keep it as up-to-date as I can.…

We hardly knew ya….

I just “tweeted” it, but I wanted to post it here, too…ESPN and multiple other sources are now reporting that Gillispie is out as the UK Men’s Basketball coach. A press conference is scheduled for 4:30pm.

Donovan, Ford, Barnes, Izzo…who knows. It all gets crazy now, but I suspect Barnhart and Todd had some strong indications from someone out there that they’d take this job, which allowed them to pull the trigger on this move more confidently.

We shall all see, I suppose. I, for one, will miss Billy G.…

Billy G and the Sweet 16

Well, I know I’m about as random as Kentucky weather when it comes to posting things on here, but I’m working on a few solutions to that, so we’ll see how that all turns out.  Meanwhile, a little more Billy G talk. 🙂

So this past Thursday, me and a couple of friends headed down to Rupp to watch a day of the State tournament, starting in the morning with Lex Cath and winding up with the Lions of Elliott County. It was all great, but that’s not why I’m writing this.

About the 2nd quarter of the Homes/Christian County …

I’m back!

Well, I’m back in civilization today.  We have been without electric at our house since late in the day Tuesday, so I have been at home in the dark.  I ventured back to work today, in order to pick up a generator from a friend.  I wouldn’t have worried about it really (I sorta like it with no electricity or tv or anything, turns out!)…but our deep freezers were going to need some juice shortly or we would have lost all of our food we had frozen.

Shortly after I got to work today, my wife called and let me …

American Idol just doesn’t “get” us…

OK…I hate to even admit I watch American Idol, but…I do.  My wife and I still love the show…still pick our favorites to go all the way…still get angry when good singers get sent home and bad ones move on.  It is a  sickness…we know that.

Anyway, this year, they held auditions in Louisville, and the show aired last night (January 21).  For the most part, they didn’t make Kentuckians look TOO bad, but we didn’t exactly come across as well adjusted, either.

However, one of the hopefuls came in and sang “White Lightnin’”, by George Jones, and at the …
